Vero & Dependable Machine to Host Productivity Lunch and Learn Meeting in Hayden, Idaho, Nov. 15, 2018
A lunch-and-learn meeting designed to help users of the EDGECAM and SURFCAM solutions transition into utilizing the programs’ productivity and automation tools will be hosted Nov. 15 at the facility of Mazak machine-tool distributor Dependable Machine, Inc., in Hayden, Idaho. The educational event is an opportunity for users and prospects of both solutions to learn how to fully harness the power of their programming capabilities, receive helpful instruction from software experts, see live cutting demonstrations, and meet with peers in a fun learning environment.
The event, which includes complimentary lunch, will offer separate presentations for users of each solution. A meeting for SURFCAM Traditional users will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and a meeting for EDGECAM users & prospects will be hosted from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Each of the meetings will focus on new developments in each program, as well as helpful tips and tricks.
From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., EDGECAM and SURFCAM users will attend a “Transition into Automation Programming” lunch and live-cutting demonstration, during which EDGECAM and SURFCAM Waveform machining will be demonstrated with a Mazak VCN-530C vertical machining center. The Waveform cutting strategy is designed to maintain a constant chip load for high speed machining. Waveform toolpath moves smoothly and avoids sharp changes in direction, which helps to maintain a constant high feedrate.
“We’ll also be showing the latest CAD for CAM technology, along with ‘on machine’ probing and inspection,” said Vic Baker, strategic partner manager for Vero Software. “This is a great opportunity for users & prospective users of EDGECAM and SURFCAM to see the latest developments and learn how to make our automation tools work for them.”
EDGECAM and SURFCAM are market-leading computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) systems for NC part programming. With unparalleled ease of use and sophisticated toolpath generation, EDGECAM and SURFCAM have become the CAM systems of choice for milling, turning and mill-turn machining applications.
