EDGECAM, by Vero Software, Exhibited at Kyocera SGS Tech Hub Ribbon-Cutting Sept. 18, Danville, Virginia

Valued for its ability to program every machine tool on the shop floor, the EDGECAM computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) solution will be exhibited on Sept. 18 at a ribbon-cutting celebration on the site of the new Kyocera SGS Tech Hub in Danville, Virginia.

The Kyocera SGS Tech Hub is both manufacturing facility and research center, and represents investment in innovation, market leadership and customer solutions. The all-new facility will feature state-of-the-art technology to create proactive, rapid-response industrial solutions tailored to the unique needs of each customer.

According to Kyocera SGS Tech Hub President Jason Wells, the new 30,000 square-foot facility will eventually be the site of engineered custom production, advanced tool coatings, technology development, and R&D. The division is designed to target and address specific customer machining challenges.

“We like to say we sell solutions, not product. Everything is tailored to a specific customer application, so typically we receive an opportunity and we engineer the project from concept through implementation. Here at KSTH, we collaborate with our customers to understand their needs and explore all possible options to provide an optimized solution,” Wells said.

“Once we have a product made, we build a strategy to utilize how to best use that product.  This often involves taking advantage of our partnering relationships with other companies, such as Vero, to bring their industry-leading technology into the mix so that we may provide the absolute best possible solution to the customer.”

Kyocera will perform on-site testing at the new facility, and is currently using the EDGECAM solution to generate toolpaths for its specialized tooling. Vero will continue to partner with Kyocera in its endeavor to deliver unparalleled service to its customers.
