Edgecam users in The Benelux are being invited to a special “Userday” organised by Dutch reseller Widenhorn BV.
Widenhorn managing director Anco Euser says: “We’ll show our customers the latest version of Edgecam, and how they can get more out of it. This will be particularly useful in helping our customers take their businesses to the next level by making the most of the software that drives their CNC machines.”
Edgecam is a market leading CAM system, capable of programming milling, turning and mill-turn machines, combining unrivaled ease of use and sophisticated toolpath generation. Edgecam is a principal brand of the Planit group - recently ranked by CIMdata as the world's fastest growing CAM vendor, with most industrial users.
Available worldwide, Edgecam is supplied and supported through a network of subsidiaries and specialist resellers such as Widenhorn, which won an Edgecam Outstanding Sales Achievement Award at Planit’s recent Resellers Conference.
Up to 120 Edgecam users are expected to attend Widenhorn’s event which is being held at ‘t Olde Schop, Kerkstraat 80, 6987 AD Giesbeek, on 22nd October. It is expected that customers will also have the opportunity to hear case studies from other customers about how they use Edgecam for programming the simplest to the most complex components and how it supports their latest CAD, machine tool and tooling technology.
Widenhorn are also planning a special meeting on behalf of a non-profit-making organisation set up by the Dutch Government, to help the country’s metalworking industry optimise production. “The organisation is called Syntens, and they have asked us to run this special ‘Expert Meeting’ for them,” says Anco Euser. “Directors from 11 engineering companies throughout The Netherlands will be invited to learn how to improve the use of their CNC machines.
“We’ll be promoting Edgecam for its ease of offline programming, simulation and generating toolpaths.” Widenhorn were chosen by Syntens to hold the meeting because the company has over 27 years experience in CAD/CAM, 90 years experience of metalworking, and runs state-of-the-art CNC machines driven by state-of-the-art Edgecam software.
“Programming time has been sliced by 90% with Edgecam. The gains are huge, enormous! We have also eliminated the errors that are inevitable with manual coding, especially when working without good drawings.”
