Gunslingers Get it Right for Edgecam

Edgecam’s latest ‘Gunslingers’ quality forum has ensured that the forthcoming release of the market leading metal engineering software remains the hottest shot in town.

The ‘Gunslinger’ event is hosted by a top reseller in the run up to each launch of Edgecam’s latest release. Application engineers and a number of key end-users test out the updates and new applications in real life situations provided by customers. Any additional amendments are then made by Edgecam’s development team, and tested again.

“This way, we can be sure that the latest improvements to Edgecam have been tried and tested in practical situations, using real-life scenarios faced by customers,” says the Americas’ Edgecam reseller sales manager, Domenic Lanzillotta. “Edgecam senior application engineer Adam Smith and Special Projects Manager Rick Titus lead the group in testing and relaying updates to the development team in the UK. Tests are logged during the day, and while we sleep, the developers make any necessary changes which we then review the following morning.”

“The ‘Gunslinger’ event has proved to be successful many times in the past, in providing information for making sure that each new release of Edgecam helps our customers take their business to the next level. We’re particularly excited about some of the new developments in Edgecam 2011 R1 which optimize the toolpath and help customers save time and money.”

The forthcoming IMTS Exhibition in Chicago between September 13th and 18th will provide an opportunity to meet key Planit staff at Booth E4030, and find out more about Edgecam’s updated ToolStore and proven process strategies to automate programming. The demonstrations at IMTS will show how to make the most of Edgecam’s extensive automation tools.
