Edgecam - Technical Support Engineer

The Role

As a member of the UK professional services team working with Vero’s CAD/CAM products, you will be delivering excellent customer service levels by providing quality technical support, customer training and consultancy. Promoting good practice in relation to technical issues and customer training using relevant industry knowledge.

Provide technical assistance to the UK Sales team when requested and promote Vero’s Products and Services to create sales opportunities. Utilise technical and industry best practice and experience to help improve productivity and efficiency for all Vero’s operations.

The Applicant

A background in computer aided manufacturing in the metal working industry is essential. You must have a working knowledge of Edgecam or similar CAM Software.
• HNC/Degree level qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.
• Knowledge of CAM in a production environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organise and structure activities.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are vital to the role.
• High level of computer literacy using Microsoft Windows Operating System with a sound knowledge of computer hardware and network
configurations.
• Knowledge of JavaScript or .NET programming languages would be desirable.

The Requirements

You will be committed to providing operational support to customers via our Helpdesk environment and Support Portal using good communication, analytical skills, initiative and flexibility to provide acceptable resolutions to customer support issues. You may also be required to deliver training to customers, end users and Vero staff at our dedicated training facilities in Wakefield, Reading & Bath, and on occasion assist our Professional Services team with onsite consultancy and other onsite customer services as well as support the UK & International Sales Teams if necessary. Therefore you must be willing to travel occasionally both within the UK as well as internationally to meet business needs.

Delegates will have a logical approach and an ability to work in co-operation with other team members and able to demonstrate a “can do will do” attitude, be reliable, and willing to learn the range of Vero’s products to provide a broader support base to at least effectively handle first level of support. A recognised mechanical qualification is required, ideally HNC – Mechanical & Production or higher qualifications are welcome, full driving licence and PC skill-sets are essential.
