Edgecam’s scalable DNC solutions are based around a Smart Communications Device (SCD). This hardware adaptor is attached to each machine tool to control the transfer of NC files between the network and the machine. It not only ensures the fastest, most reliable communication solution possible, but also eliminates the need for slow RS232 cabling, additional shop floor PCs or expensive terminals.
