Edgecam - 4 Axis Introduction

Edgecam’s 4-Axis strategies are ideal for the rotary machining of automotive and aerospace components such as camshafts, crankshafts and blades - as well as the production of rotary dies and tooling for the oil and gas industry. A range of advanced options provides full control over the toolpath.

Machine simulation for safe operation

Edgecam’s 4 and 5-Axis machining is supported by full machine simulation to aid visualization of the machining process. The complete machine tool and all moveable axes may be modeled and incorporated within the interactive machining simulation, helping to ensure fast and safe process optimization.

Accurate machine simulation is critically important with 5-Axis machining, as small changes in tool orientation can lead to significant rotary movement of the cutting tool - with the associated risk of collisions and/or surface marking of the finished component.

Testimonials

I'm totally confident that programming with Edgecam will constantly meet the ever growing developments. The limitations will be down to the CNC machines themselves and the levels of accuracy they can work to.
